Mugs
What does your morning mug say about you? Do you need to onboard caffeine as quickly as possible, or do you carry your coffee around most of the morning until it’s cold? Is your tea mug big and bold, or small and delicate? Penny Lane Pottery has a mug for your morning beverage and you are going to love them.
Best Selling Shapes
Belly Mug
You want to be cheered up by your morning mug choice. These belly-shaped mugs are a great shape if you like to wrap both hands around your cup of coffee or tea for warmth and comfort. They have a jaunty, bulbous shape that holds more than enough tea or coffee for a great start to your day. Savour that sip.
Straight Sides
Mugs made with straighter sides are a little bit taller than the round-shaped mugs and hold a similar amount of coffee. This mug means business and it’s ready to deliver your first cup or your third! Handmade pottery mugs will keep your hot drink hotter a little longer. Pop this mug in the dishwasher for easy cleanup. Or you can handwash your mug with soap and water, just don’t knock it against the sink or other dishes.
Branded
I make branded mugs shorter and wider than the other mugs for two reasons. First, I want the brand patch to stand out. Second, the mugs are a little wider so they hold a generous amount of warm beverage, around 10-14 oz, depending on the mug. Since each mug is handmade they are all slightly different. I describe the mugs as coming from the same family; not everyone is identical to each other, but they all look very similar.

Travel Mugs
This is a new product that I’ve been working on for about a year. I decided to develop a travel mug design after many requests from great clients for this style of mug. My focus group product testers will let me know how these travel mugs perform and if they need a handle.
Clay Body
I have 3 main clay bodies I make mugs with; white stoneware, red stoneware, and buff stoneware with manganese flecks. I call this speckled clay and the gold wine cups above are made with speckled clay. The speckled clay can also be used to make any functional ware, but this clay body is especially popular made into mugs.
